By preventing pressure injuries and promoting better sleep, the new Viscoelastic mattresses contribute to faster recovery and improved quality of life for patients, explains the company. The SAF foam used in the mattresses is CFC- and halogen-free. No toxic compounds are added during the manufacturing process, making them harmless to both patients and the environment.

Healthcare providers have the option of the Air-2, Air-3, and Simplex mattresses, with varying densities ranging from 130 kg/m³ to 150 kg/m³. All the available mattress options can accommodate individuals with a maximum weight of 130 kg.

The Air-2 and Air-3 mattresses are similar as they both have an open-celled air-foam layer that enhances heat and moisture transport away from the mattress core. They are both pressure-distributing mattresses suitable for low-, moderate-, and high-risk patients. The main difference between the two lies in the size of the foam on the side.

Safe4Care’s Simplex mattresses are pressure-distributing mattresses designed for all-round use. It comprises a 3 cm pink SAF layer at the top and a 9 cm high-quality 38 kg HR foam base layer, providing pressure relief without inhibiting self-mobility. These mattresses also provide basic decubitus prevention and are suitable for low- and moderate-risk patients.

The Viscoelastic mattresses can be washed at high temperatures of up to 95° C and air-dried or autoclaved, allowing for efficient cleaning and reuse. Due to their makeup, the mattresses offer natural resistance against microbes and bacteria. Healthcare providers can also order mattresses with Safe4Care-FLEX covers that can be easily cleaned with common disinfectants.
